Eingeweiht | Rosaer Gemeinde freut sich über neue Kirchenfenster / Stifterin & Glaskünstler vor Ort

Fünf Fenster der Christuskirche Rosa bedurften einer Erneuerung. Die Kirchengemeinde startete einen Spendenaufruf. Die Gemeinde Rosa hatte bereits finanzielle Unterstützung zugesagt.

Der Glaskünstler Wolfgang Nickel kam ins Spiel. Er erinnerte sich an die Stifterin Monika Wiegandt und konnte sie für das Projekt begeistern. Eine kleine Arbeitsgruppe hatte zuvor intensiv darüber nachgedacht, wie das Christussymbol, dem Namen der Kirche entsprechend, umgesetzt werden könnte.

Auf der linken Hälfte des orangen Fensters blickt ein Phönix den Betrachter an. Dieses Fabelwesen opfert sich selbst, bleibt drei Tage tot und erhebt sich schließlich aus der eigenen Asche. Im christlichen Sinn ist der Phönix das Symbol für Jesus selbst, sein Triumph über den Tod. Rechts ist ein Hirtenstab abgebildet Christus wird in der Bibel oft als guter Hirte bezeichnet. Dadurch wurde seine radikale, fürsorgliche, aber auch sehr persönliche Liebe beschrieben.

Das in blau gehaltene Glasfenster weist auf seiner linken Seite gemäß dem Bibelzitat aus dem Johannes-Evangelium ein Tor auf: Ich bin die Tür, wenn jemand durch mich hineingeht, wird er selig werden. Die rechte Seite zeigt einen Fisch, ein altes Symbol aus der Zeit der ersten Christen. Der Fisch enthält das Glaubensbekenntnis in Kurzform.

Die linke Hälfte des violetten Fensters zeigt einen Pelikan, der seine Jungen füttert. Eine Legende der Antike berichtet von einer Hungersnot, bei der sich das Muttertier für seine Kinder opfert. So stehen die Pelikane für die aufopferungsvolle Liebe Christi zu den Menschen. Das in der Farbe der Passion gestaltete violette Fenster zeigt auf der rechten Hälfte ein Weizenkorn, das aus der Ähre in die Erde fällt. Erst wenn es stirbt, bringt es wieder reiche Frucht hervor. So steckt im Tod des Weizenkorns neues Leben. Jesus selbst ist das Weizenkorn.

Das grüne Fenster zeigt einen Weinstock. Jesus spricht im Johannes-Evangelium: "Ich bin der Weinstock und ihr seid die Reben." Verdeutlicht wird damit die Verbindung von Christus zu den Menschen. Über dem Weinstock ist ein Medaillon mit einem Monogramm zu erkennen. Die Inschrift IHS ist das griechische Wort für Jesus Christus.

Das kleine runde Fenster gilt als Sonnenfenster. Gelbleuchtend symbolisiert es das Licht als Quelle des Lebens, der Orientierung und der Wärme. Jesus Christus spricht: Ich bin das Licht der Welt.

Windows show the image of Christ

Five windows of Christ Church required a renewal. The parish launched an appeal for donations. The community of Rosa had already pledged financial support.

The glass artist Wolfgang Nickel came into play. He remembered the founder Monika Wiegandt and was able to get them excited about the project. A small working group had previously been thinking hard about how the symbol of Christ, according to the name of the Church, could be implemented.

On the left half of the orange window a phoenix looks at the viewer. This mythical creature sacrifices himself, remains three days dead, and finally rises from its own ashes. For the Christian the phoenix is the symbol of Jesus himself, his triumph over death. The right is a shepherd's crook. In the Bible Christ is often referred to as the good shepherd. Thus the radical, caring, but also very personal love has been described.

The blue glass window on his left side indicates - according to the Bible - a quote from the Gospel of John on a goal: "I am the door, if anyone enters by me, he will be saved." The right side shows a fish, an ancient symbol dating back to the early Christians. The fish contains the creed in short form.

The left half of the window shows a purple pelican feeding its young. A legend of antiquity tells of a famine, in which the mother animal sacrifices himself for his children. So the pelicans stand for the self-sacrificing love of Christ. Decorated in the color of passion the purple window displays a grain of wheat that falls out of the ear of corn in the earth. Only if it dies, it brings forth much fruit again. So the death of the wheat grain infected new life. Jesus himself is the grain of wheat.

The green window shows a vine. Jesus says in John's Gospel: "I am the vine and you are the branches." It shows the connection of Christ to the people. About the vine a locket with a monogram can be seen. The inscription "IHS" is the Greek word for Jesus Christ.

The small round window is considered to be sun window. Yellow on it symbolizing the light as a source of life, the orientation and the heat. Jesus Christ says, 'I am the light of the world.
